Public Meeting


I hereby give notice that Maesteg Town Council will hold the postponed hybrid public meeting at 6:30pm on Thursday, 29th September 2022 in the upstairs meeting room within the Town Council Offices to consider the Auditor General for Wales’ report in the public interest and the recommendations included therein.

The report sets out the Auditor General’s findings in relation to failures in financial management and governance at Maesteg Town Council (the Council) during the financial years 2015-16 to 2019-20 that contributed to the Council being defrauded of £238,000.

With prior notice, any member of the public may inspect the report and make a copy of it or any part of it, between 10:00 and 14:00 Monday to Friday in the Maesteg Town Council building. Maesteg Town Council Offices, Talbot Street, Maesteg, CF34 9BY.

Members welcome any questions before the meeting to be answered during the meeting. For those attending remotely – this will be conducted through the use of Microsoft Teams and the link will be sent on the day within an hour of the meeting start time. Questions from those in attendance remotely can be typed on the night in the chat box and the Clerk will present these to the Council.
